MINE SWEEPING CANINES

One of the most controversial aspects of warfare is the deployment of land mines. Minefields continue to be a threat to humans in the area long after the enemy has departed.

Land mines are constructed from both metallic and non-metallic materials often making detection with a metal detector impossible on a non-metallic device. Many times they are deployed in terrain not accessible to conventional mine sweeping machinery.

With scent detection 1000 times stronger than a human, canines are capable of detecting both metallic and non-metallic devices by searching for minute traces of scent left behind by explosive devices. They are also capable in working in rough, treacherous terrain where machinery is useless.

Mine detecting canines are almost 10 times more effective in detecting the presence of mines than any other method of detection.

CSI Mine Detection canines can fill the critical need in your mine detection capabilities. We offer a structured, rigorous and comprehensive training program for both handler and canine which is administered in country and on site.
